Look on university websites to find entry requirements...

Your GCSE grades shouldn't be a barrier to your university application. A levels are the most important aspect. As far as I'm aware, they only really assess GCSE grades as a point of comparison when choosing between two potential candidates. But yes, it's probably a good idea now to contact prospective med schools just to double check.

I'm guessing a '5' correlates to a grade C? If that's the case, then it will hinder your application, due to you failing to meet their basic requirements. Seeing as the majority asks for at-least a grade B ( 6 ) in both English and Mathematics. What i would suggest is you research medical schools, and look at their requirements. Pick the ones which will play within your favour.

Yes but people are saying a 5 is 33% of a C and 33% of a b

I believe your application may still be hindered. As it is English Language they are asking for at a B minimum. English Literature is treated as an extra GCSE.

I'm getting mine remarked first, and then if my score doesn't get bumped up to a 6, I'll resit.
