Vegetarian Vodka Jelly :)

Hello,

I told a friend of mine that I'd make her vodka jelly for a Christmas party that she is having but I was just wondering firstly what flavour would be best, secondly the best measurements to use, and thirdly because a few of us who will be at the party are vegetarians, what is the best company to use? Because I've made normal jelly before that was vegetarian but it doesn't set! Any help would be greatly appreciated :smile:

The best tip i had was you only 80% of the volume required on the packet to make up the jelly.

40% of the liquid recommended should be vodka, the other 40% hot water. Thats 'should' set.

We usually have a red flavour.

use the powder jelly in sachets im pretty sure their veggie i think their nestle or something lol or some similar brand name (sorry unhelpful!) and then just mix with half water half vodka as instructed on the packet? or all vodka depending on how ****ed you want to get.

It won't set if you use all vodka lil! :biggrin:

I've never tried it with the sugar free powder, i've only ever used the cubes. But 80% of the liquid advised on the packet, half vodka, has always worked for us.

The sugar free sachets aren't veggie, infact I'm not sure if rowntrees are veggie at all. I think Adsa own brand is though.

Asda own brand is? thank you all!! Im not bothered about the sugar cos well with that much vodka in it it's going to be pretty calorific anyway lol, it's just if it's got gelatine in it or not :smile:

I just spent ages searching online, and I found that the weightwatcher jelly crystals are vegetarian. You can get them at ASDA for £0.37 per sachet :smile:
