# What topics in GCSE Further Mathematics overlap with modules at A-Level?

I'm not sure if knowing the exam board is relevant to answering this question but I'm specifically asking about Edexcel on the old specs.

On the old edexcel spec, pretty much the entirety of C1 will be covered by a combination GCSE maths and further maths. Other than that, not a lot except some basic circle equation stuff from C2 (circle equations are in GCSE further maths right? ...)

Well, here are FM topics in A level (it's some topics off C1/C2 with 1 topic off FP1 which is dumbed down a bit):

- factor theorem (C1-C2)
- circle equations (in the regular 9-1 GCSE now; C2)
- equation of tangent to circle (also in 9-1 GCSE; C2)
- differentiation; stationary points, etc (C1-C2)
- matrices (FP1)
- quadratic/arithmetic sequences (in 9-1 GCSE; C1)
- coordinate geometry (in 9-1 GCSE; C1)
- circle theorems (in 9-1 GCSE; C2)
- trig graphs, identities, equations (C1-C2)
- functions (9-1 GCSE; C1-C2)
- completing the square, sketching functions (9-1 GCSE; C1-C2)
- simultaneous equations with quadratic (9-1 GCSE; C1)
