I'm going to be applying to do law at uni this year and was wondering what the top three and bottom three Russell group unis would be for this subject?

Top 3: Oxford, Cambridge, LSE

Bottom 3: Liverpool, Sheffield, Newcastle - tbh not too sure if Newcastle is that bad, I can only think of Liverpool and Sheffield being at the bottom, lol.

Reading isn't RG, mamacita. Otherwise wholly agree.

Oops, forgot it was 1994 or something instead. Fixed.

Actually, I view some of the 1994 to be on par with some in the Russell Group, hence the confusion. There are too many RG unis man, why can't we have the Ivy League or something more concise? Haha

I agree. I think the top universities should create a new group to truly rival the Ivy League.

It is funny how a University can be in the Russell Group but not be found in the top 100 universities in the world.

It will be good to have the Big 8, which are Cambridge, Oxford, UCL, Imperial, Manchester, LSE, Edinburgh, Kings College London.

If you think things are this simplistic, and can be boiled down so easily, maybe Law isn't for you!

Won't lie. I had to Google to be sure I wouldn't end up looking silly. Reading isn't even in 1994 -- which just goes to show how many listings there are to remember.

This gonna be good *grabs bag of unspecified snack*

I agree with the posters so far.
Hopefully some fireworks: some contextless stats and other fun stuff. To be honest, I am just hoping no one mentions the uni I did my undergrad as the worst.

Correct, it isn't in the 1994 now, but it was a founding member of 1994.

Top 'Ivy League' Universities: Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, LSE, Imperial, possibly Edinburgh
Next level: Bristol, Durham, Manchester, KCL, most of RG
Bottom RG level: QUB, Liverpool, Sheffield, York

I forgot York was in the RG. Oops, I guess that means you're right about it not being that good. But yeah, Notorious_B.I.G., the York law school isn't bad.

York moves up to being okay, but Manchester still doesn't change imo

The Manchester love will never end!

I agree with the rest of your post about the RG and the Ivy League tho'
Real recognise Real

I think things need to change. Else, some UK universities run the risk of being mocked.

I rate Durham but sadly not part of the Big 8. Many people outside Oxbridge and certain universities don't even know Durham exists.

I am not sure how Durham will get over this slight.
