i wouldn't know personally, it depends what kind of course you're doing i guess. my best friend wanted to go there but didn't even get an offer because she hadn't done a foundation year (art). they were really horrible at her interview too.. it seems like a pretentious place tbh! it's prestigious though so probably kinda hard to get into. worth a try though!

Thanks for the reply. How were they horrible at her interview? I'm dreading getting interviews for uni...
i've heard that a lot about Goldsmiths being pretentious so I'm not entirely sure I want to go there now. I reckon I'm going to change my choice...

Anyone else had any experiences? advice etc?
I got into Goldsmiths as a mature student (I was 23) with a BTEC Diploma (Triple Dist) and an AS Level (B) I had no GCSE's or A levels. If you look on the UCAS points board, having a diploma with good results is worth heaps of points.
I found my interview fine, I didn't think I wowed them or anything and found it difficult to answer many questions, but the interviewer in question was nice enough.

As for it being "pretentious" well I think it is what you make of it. I found it hard to fit in as I was from a different walk of life to most of my fellow students and yes most of them are middle class, but you get on with it and just don't take any crap from anyone!

i went to an open day and asked some questions.. apparently for art last year 11 people applied for each place, which is crazy!! i really want to go there but i think my knowledge of modern artists would let me down on the interview :frown:
and they don't accept people at all if they haven't done a foundation year (apart from exceptions with mature or foreign students)
im doing a foundation year now, but im debating whether to really go for it or set my sights a little lower
Xx
I got ABD last year and they just offered me AAB... can't be that hard
Anyone had an offer for Sociology and Anthropology yet? and what was it? Does the uni tend to give them out quite soon? i sent my application around a week ago.

Im applying for the same course, do you know the typical entrance requirements or how hard it is to get into?

On the open day, the sociology lady told me it was ABB, and that for soc/anth there was only 3 applicants for every place roughly. Which is darn good! she said for soc/media there was more like 30 applicants per place. Still waiting for an offer! have you sent your application yet?

I'll be all sent today, im waiting on rec letters. Im US student so the requirement scale is different. Do you know what ABB would translate to?

does anyone know if the integrated degree in anthropology with a foundation yr is just for international students or can home students apply for it as well?
People this year are getting offers of AAB to do psychology.

I got in through clearing with ABC. And my results are not the worst here. I think that they are lenient on grades, at least for this subject.
