Applied for a MSc late - missed my chance?

Long story short, I graduated from Glasgow Uni earlier this year but due to some unforeseen circumstances, I only managed to apply for a Masters course in August, a couple of days before the deadline (the 25th).

I definitely meet the admission criteria, I've got a First class, relevant experience, great references and all but I'm a little worried that I might've missed my chance due to applying so late...

Does anyone know if the spaces for MSc courses usually fill in early, or does the University wait until the deadline to start making offers? If it matters, the course I'm applying to is Brain Sciences.
