I participated in the University of the West of England's MUN in 2015.

My suggestion is that you brush up on the country you choose to represent and form an opinion on the theme!

I know speaking can be a little nerve-wrecking, but do not worry, stay calm, and just go ahead! There is no reason to be scared

During lunch or any other breaks, feel free to socialise with the other participants. All the ones I discussed with were lovely people

Good luck and have fun if you participate in a MUN!

Well i'm not nervous at all
. The problem is English is not my mother tongue. That's why it is a little tedious to speak everything that comes in my head. Another thing is tonal variation. I have participated in some debates and plays both English and Urdu (Mother tongue :P ). For having the perfect tonal variation, one has to practice for some days , maybe even weeks. I want to cut that time short because most of the debates in mun have to be thought on the spot. {Can you send me some link about the format ( how does mun run ) and tell me about your early experiences :3 )

Some of us used to partake in TSR's Model United Nations, which was first pondered back in May 2005 (and was set up officially soon afterwards). Unfortunately, a sledgehammer was taken to our MUN back in the summer of 2015, and it has now been replaced with the Model European Union. I'm certain there are a few MUN old-timers in here willing to tell you about what they used to do back then, but I'm not one of them...
