Do you regret not having a life to attain these grades?

Are you truly happy?

Do you define yourself by the grades you achieve?

How would you feel if you got a couple of C's?

Is this AMA just to show off?

Congratulations! What was your favourite GCSE subject? Do you have an idea of what you want to study at university?

1. Actually I found that if you plan your school work effectively and use time wisely, you can have a great life outside of school and partake in many extracurricular events. Using all time at school (inc. breaks, lunch etc) to do work also cuts down on stuff to do at home

2. I am happy, yes! Hopefully I can help others achieve the grades they want by sharing how I worked my way up from mocks (which were much worse than my actual grades).

3. I don't define myself by my grades but they are very important to me as I see them as a stepping stone for the future.

4. If I got Cs I would be delighted - as long as I knew I'd worked hard to get the grades I truly deserved. However, if I got a C because I hadn't bothered I would be angry at myself.
Remember - C is defined by the government as a good pass

5. No lol the ama is because going into GCSEs I didn't have much of a chcance to speak to
People aiming for similar grades to me. I figured that now I have this platform to share my experience, perhaps someone, somewhere, may be able to learn from my mistakes and feel more confident and supported! The student room is a great place to share ideas and help others so I figured I'd start a thread to try and help anyone

(I am aware the questions were facetious but hey, i might be able to help someone along the way by answering truthfully)
My questions were not intended to be facetious. It's an AMA - so any question is perfectly acceptable.

I just wanted to delve into the life/mind of someone who achieved highly at GCSE.

What degree do you want to do, and what career?
Congrats on your grades by the way. I think it was predicted only 2 people will get all top grades in the whole UK

Wow! It's hard to say my favourite subject as I had SO many ups and downs throughout the course, as did everyone else.
At the end of the day, I really loved taking maths exams because of the fulfilment I felt once I'd got the answer, but in lessons I adored history and English the most because they offered real scope to explore interpretations (although these became very stressful at exam time when I realised I didn't know how to write succinctly!)
Sounds like you will find your A Level subjects very rewarding too - best of luck with them!
