So gap years can be useful espcially for artsy subjects, so you can build a portfolio. I'm taking a gap year now before I study electronic enginnering at the end, what I'm struggling at the moment is to convince unis that my maths knowledge will stay fresh. If you need an alevel in maths then I dont think its worth the hassel of convincing unis, they are only worried all your knowledge won't be fresh. You will really need to convince them, maybe get work experience at a hospital? Sorry if this wasn't much help!
