Any experience with the English speaking union gap year high school exchange program?

I'm thinking of taking a gap year between 6th form and uni (I'm class of 2019) and came across the English Speaking Union's scholarship opportunity to study in a US high school. Has anyone applied or had experience with this amazing looking program? Or even just experience with the application process? I would need a full scholarship. Thanks in advance :smile:
