Medical checks for RAF

Many years ago I applied to the RAF and told them I had a medical condition that meant I failed the medical. The doctor told me if I had not told him he would have passed me, which upset me even more. I have seen on a blog that before you are finally accepted, you have to wait for medical clearance (presumably with your doctor?). Does anyone know if that is the case please?

There is a comprehensive medical during the recruitment process when they get your medical records from your GP. If you have something on those records that makes you unfit for service you will be made PMU, permanently medically unfit.

First rule of medicals - If it's not on your medical records, you haven't been diagnosed with anything, so don't make things up you self-diagnose!
