In new terms, this equates to a strong pass.

Compared to the legacy spec, this equates to a high C low B grade.

To do a levels economics my schools says you need to be "band 5" at gcse

what does this mean?
Grade 5= Strong/good pass, it is a high C, low B. It is the minimum entry requirement for most college courses, some have lowered it to a 4 (Standard Pass) only because it is the first year of the new GCSE Grading system, by summer 2019 the old grade C would be a 5.

if you can't realise your grades were fine already, you're either insanely ignorant, and would probably not fare well in economics, or bear extreme pseudo-arrogance, and would probably not fare well in economics.

how did you get a 7 in maths and not realise that 7>5
