Basically i screwed myself by oversleeping a exam at the end of my first year (i set 3 alarms i swear) and i have my retake tomorrow and i wanted to clear something up. On my Module i currently have 36%, obviously not the bare minimum 40% to pass and get credits for the module. I have a exam retake which is atleast 45% of the marks for the whole module itselfs and im wondering how much i need to pass? If i fail the exam, lets say i get 30%, does that mark get added onto my 36% regardless of if its a pass for the exam or not. (hopefully that makes sense)
I want to know this as the Module is going to be capped at 40% anyway so i wont be able to get a good module mark regardless i dont want to stress out about getting 40% if i dont even need that much. Thanks.

Some universities have a minimum 40% in each assessment, they should mention it in their assessment handbook

At my university, in first year you had to get 40% minimum on both the coursework and the exam. Stop being lazy, it's literally 40% and you've had the entire summer to revise.

Retakes at most unis are capped at 40% which is enough to pass the module.

Depending on the uni you may need 40% in both or just an average, consult your handbook to be sure.
