Banking - internships vs grad schemes

Hi,

I'm going into my final year of university and have been applying for graduate schemes. I don't have an internship and I was wondering what my chances are of getting onto a graduate scheme in a bank (say HSBC)? Would I be better off just applying for internships at the banks and grad schemes at the accountacy firms instead?
