I have a few ideas for my EPQ but am ultimately stuck. I want something interesting and thought provoking, something a bit political and relevant but honestly have no clue what to do, here are some ideas I have:

-What would have happened if the Americans didn't win the Revolution?

-To what extent is the dystopian novel 1984 by George Orwell realistic in todays society?

-Is technology helping or hindering society?

I am in the exact same position as you - stuck! haha!

I really like the 2nd title on George Orwell, I think that fits with what you're aiming for completely what did you decide on in the end?

Good luck with it!

thanks! Completely forgot about this thread lmao, so far I've got the title (wait for it bc a bit of a mouthful) 'Does Feminism of the 21st century in America and Britain focus too much on trivial matters in comparison to first wave feminism?' My EPQ supervisor believes I should specify what 'trivial matters' means but I personally think its specific enough, considering that I'm going to be exploring what modern day feminism is about and whatnot.

What do you have so far?

Hey! I got an A* in my EPQ so I may be able to help. I think it’s best to pick a question that allows room for discussion, but isn’t too broad. For example, I originally chose to cover the causes of the Salem Witch Trials, but there were just too many to make my EPQ well organised. Instead I chose to explore what caused a specific nuance of this historical event. It left me plenty of room for discussion but narrowed it down so I could explore 3-4 points in depth instead of covering more with less information.

I like the George Orwell question! The part about extent will allow you to break your essay down into nice little sections. But I honestly think you should choose what you’re most interested it, as this makes the EPQ much more enjoyable! Good luck!

Hi thanks for answering, Im doing my EPQ on feminism now. Question time, how did you structure your production log and how much did you write?

I typed out my production log so I’d be able to edit/add without making it messy. I made sure I used all the space as well! I had 2 example EPQs for reference and the higher scoring one went into more detail in the log. I wrote about 5,200 words I think? Any more and I believe you get marked down because it isn’t good organisation.
