Politics or combined social sciences at Durham?

Sorry for a long message 😂
I want to do Politics at Durham but I saw on their website that the Government and global affaires department is the most competitive! So I'm thinking about applying for combined social sciences which is less competitive and then doing politics and international relations as the social sciences. But the entry requirements is AAA for politics and A*AA for combined social sciences so I don't know which one would be a better option! I'd be more likely to get an offer for one of them but the other I'd be more likely to get the grades for so I don't know what to do!!!
