What is the absolute BEST way to study for IAL/AL

I am currently studying Maths, Physics and IT at AS/A2.

I have tried multiple techniques such as revising hard on the topics and doing past papers, just doing past papers over and over again and literally memorising questions ( which actually helped me achieve a slightly better grade ) etc. I seem to get good results on my Mock tests which I do loads of at home and at school, but get much much lower in the real exams.

What change to studying has enabled you to increase your grades in a major way?
