Why do some posts go unanswered?

some people cba or don't know. Its often cba, but usually because you can easily search your problem up on the internet to find what your looking for instead of making a full thread

1. They're hard to understand
2. Don't know how to respond constructively
3. They're stupid
4. Its been answered a million times before

Why do some posts go unanswered?

Because no has a genuine answer for them, or they are stupid threads, or just because there's a very interesting/easy to answer thread that's taking the limelight.
Some questions are virtually impossible to answer.
Some are just too specialist.
Some are just lazy.
Some require too much work.
Some I just refuse on.

There are thousands of threads each week, so its not hard for some to escape. The ones that really need help tend to get an answer or at least the ones I think need a response.

It's a case of being too specific or too general. Sometimes, threads are in the wrong forum so get missed by the people who would know the answer. Other times, people are too busy to answer them - I've spent approx 2 hours going through unanswered threads now, which is something I can't often commit to.
TSR Acronym made up by me (patenting this bois), watch this space @qasim_96 @elforjg02

"If in doubt, use D.I.R.S"! (doesn't really roll off the tongue)

Here's why!
-D stands for Difficulty! Difficulty as in, you've just asked a question that looks more complicated than the answer! Don't expect anyone else to be able to answer it either! Outside of specialists. (So post it in a specific thread!)

-I stands for Irrelevant! Irrelevant as in, this question has no relevance or structure! It's very existence is confusing!

-R stands for Repetitive! Repetitive as in, you, or several other people have asked this question, equal to the letter, at least 5 times in one day! Yes, you can go to Cambridge if you have all A*s, stop pseudo-bragging!

or No! You won't have as much of a chance of doing PPE at Oxford if you have 8Ds and 4Es!

because using the search button is overrated in 2017 amirite!

or S, for Stupid. Stupid as in, just really, really, f***ing stupid, as in, I literally have no words, because it is that stupid, I cannot manifest my sheer shock into words!

because thinking before you type is overrated in 2017, amirite!

(i am salty but this is TSR)

(All of my threads are probably like this as well tbh aaaa)

Normally the questions don't make sense, aren't asking a meaningful question, or have been answered a thousand times over. Specific or new questions, if I feel qualified, I will always try to answer.

The biggest reason I won't respond is because I am not reading one big block of text without paragraphing.

Whats so great about paragraphing? 500 words will take the same amount of time to read whether its got parygraphs or not. So long as the text is otherwise easy to undertand then there is no issue.

It doesn't read as easily. There's a reason paragraphs exist.

You're acting as if what I am saying is completely bananas. This site really does attract the wrong uns.

Too little information (e.g. "What A-levels should I do?" with no context)

Massive wall of text that nobody wants to read

Question that could simply be Googled (e.g. "When is [uni]'s open day?")

Nonsensical spam posts

Repetitive (e.g. "Can I get into Oxford with...")

Controversial, loaded questions (although usually these do get answered...)

Well your response wasn't particularly effective at answering the quoted girl's question. So.....
