is triple science worth it?

is triple science worth it or double science. Also which one is easier and is it true that you do 9 exams for triple. I might drop triple science for double but i dont know unless someone who has done it tells me.

Yes you do 9 exams for triple, 3 units for each science. I sat my triple exams this year in 2017 and my triple unit 3 exams for biology and chemistry were a lot easier for me than unit 2. I think the specification has changed now for the upcoming years, as I also had coursework, but generally I am glad I did triple science and yes it is more work. If you do not enjoy science or like it then I wouldn't recommend it as the third units are more difficult. If you want to go into science careers or do science a levels then you should 100% pick triple. If not then I wouldn't, but I definitely don't regret doing triple as I enjoyed science at gcse

It's pretty obvious which one is going to be easier given triple gives you 3 GCSEs and double only gives you 2.

Triple is naturally going to look better on an application (depending on what you are applying to), and does include 9 exams (3 each for physics, chemistry and biology) versus I believe 6 for double, so not a huge difference. They aren't too long either. (EDIT: apparently it varies per exam board now)

I'd try stick it out if you can but if not it's not the end of the world! Consider talking to a member of staff to help you decide as they'll have some good advice.

what about double science?
I had a worthless teacher so it was pretty difficult for me and I got ABB when I was aiming for AAA. However, if you're planning on taking any science at A-Level, it certainly does help to be familiar with extra content and have a little more knowledge and understanding.
Our school made everyone do triple science (I did the GCSEs this year, getting A*AA in Chem, Bio and Physics respectively)

I really think that Triple Science, albeit harder (there were only 6 exams for us in OCR, for P1,P2,P3, then P4,5,6, then C1, 2, 3 and..you get the picture) is really quite an enriching experience. You get a much more solid footing and specialise more in all of the sciences. Additionally, if you seek to do A Level, this may put you at a better standing.

I say MAY. As a new A Level student (Further Maths, Maths, Physics, Chemistry). Our teacher literally said on the first lesson of Chem "everything you learnt at GCSE is *******s". So it may not be entirely applicable in the future, but it's always good to have.

It's still possible to get As in Core and Additional and still get As at A Level, as A Level Sciences f***s everyone equally :h:
Hi! It's really up to you. If you enjoy science and are good at it then yes go for it! But if you want a 'easier' route, there's really no harm in doing double either. I did double and now I'm applying to medicine  The jump from GCSE to A level is hard regardless of you doing triple or double science. Must warn you though, it might be really hard at first when people have a previous knowledge of stuff from GCSE that you never covered. The first week of chemistry I was so lost as I had never seen an ionic equation before and our teacher expected us to just know it. It's completely fine now though! Good Luck!

not sure i did my gcse's three years ago lol.

but if you want to do med/dentistry etc you can still do it with double its less content too

however triple will help a lot if you do science a levels so in a way its worth it and it isnt

i did double science in gcse's and took a level biology and chemistry (OCR) and i found it fine

If you like sciene then it is actually pretty fun. It looks good on applications etc. However, if you are planning to become a doctor or a chemist or dentistry etc etc(those kind of careers) then triple science is almost required.

Triple obviously contains more content. It isn't exactly harder, but you will cover all the content for double science plus some extra triple-only stuff. After all, it's worth 3 GCSEs rather than 2.

It's a question of whether you can get good grades in triple. Getting a pair of As in double is better than getting 3 Bs in triple. If you feel like the pace is toofast, don't feel the need to do triple. You can do a science A-level with double science GCSEs.
I did triple and there are 9 exams in about three weeks of year 11

If you do double, you sit three exams in year 10 and three in year 11

Triple is harder and more work but I actually am so glad I did it! It was what made GCSEs hard for me because there was a relatively big workload.

I am not doing science a levels but organisationally and in terms of preparing me for a lot of work at a level, I'm happy I did triple. I have one more gcse if nothing else!
