Mom wont let me ride my bike to UNI

My university is about 5 miles from home and i want to ride my bike simply because ill be saving around £250 - £300 per year and at the same time staying fit as im not bothered to go to the gym.

My mum says theres no point in riding your bike when you can simply take a train thats a 5 minute walk from my house.
Is she paying for the train?

nope, but even if mum paid for my travel i would rather use my own income.
one of main reasons is
-dangerous
-whats the point

Riding my bike is the only activity i find fun and the best way i can stay "healthy".

If she's not paying then it's up to you as you are 18+!! Besides, what makes a train any less different??
