Due to a difficult situation at home, I will be moving out of my mothers house to live with my partner (also a uni student) about a week or two into the second year of my course.

Will I have to call SFE in order to let them know I will no longer be living with a parent and would my change of living situation increase the amount of my maintenance loan?
(Earlier this year when applying, I've already been awarded the maximum amount of basic + additional maintenance loan for when living with a parent)

They will evaluated your entitlement based on your new circumstances but seeing as your partner is a student means your award should not decrease and you may get more. If you're on talking terms with your mother you should ask her to write you a letter and to sign it stating you are no longer living with her and she is no longer providing for you financially.
