    I am a student living (and studying) abroad, who received Student Finance for a previous degree programme in the UK. I was incorrectly registered for UK Tax this year, which meant SFE was alerted and asked for evidence to prove I live abroad.

    I sent in this form 3 weeks ago, but have not had a response, and instead have gotten a letter saying I must provide evidence or face a penalty (sent last week). Does this mean SFE did not get my original evidence? Is there any way to resolve this without phoning them, given that I live abroad and that would be very expensive?

    To get an update of the evidence you have sent you will need to get in contact with sfe repayments team who will be able to access your account to give you a further update.
