I sent in my original application on the 1st of March of this year, over 6 months ago. I have still not even heard if I will be entitled to any student finance, despite calling up multiple times and being told "any day now" or "wait another week".

I'd just like to know, is it normal to make someone, who applied half a year ago, wait so long just to hear if they are entitled? I start uni soon and if I don't hear soon then I will have no choice but to not attend. Just wondering who there is I can contact about this nonsense, since when I call up all I get is the same old "oh any day now!". Surely there's another number or someone higher up that I can speak to about this experience, and about hurrying up with my application. They are not waiting on any evidence, I've asked and been told that they don't need anything else from me so there's really no reason as to why it's taking so long.

I am furious and a bit defeated, honestly. I'd just like to know if I'm gonna get anything or not, so I can make/cancel plans.

I am in the same situation as you! I applied 6 months ago and sent off a letter they asked back in May, and last week they admitted to me that no one had even bothered to send my letter to the processing team and it had just been sitting there on my file, I was very angry. They're incompetent!

Yes the exact same happened to me! I called after waiting so long and they told me that nobody had actually sent my application off to be manually assessed! It must have been siting around for a good 4 months. I just called up now and they said that today it should be finished, so I have my fingers crossed.

Regardless of whether i actually know by the end of today, I definitely have a complaiunt to lodge!
