Hi i'm looking to do Environmental Management with a year with professional studies. The Course is BBB with economics and geography which I achieved B's in both but my other grade was a C. Will I need to retake or is there a chance i am accepted anyway?

When do Queen's start sending out offers? Do you wait until January?

Thanks

Hi Gymnast7,

Thanks for getting in touch!

Decisions on applications are made on an ongoing basis for the majority of courses. However, there is a limit on places for NI and EU students (but not for GB or International students except in the professional health-related courses). Therefore, to ensure that applicants are treated fairly and equitably, decisions on some NI and EU applicants, for high demand courses, may not be made until we are aware of the overall competition for places, after the UCAS advisory closing date.

After an offer is made this will be notified to applicants through UCAS. Confirmation will be emailed by the Admissions and Access Service and this communication will also include Terms and Conditions which applicants should read carefully in advance of replying to their offer(s) on UCAS Track.

If you need any other info just let us know. :h:

My daughter scored 637.5 in UKCAT ( 2550) and her IGCSE scores are 5 A*, 3A . What is the recommend choice among - QUB, Leicester, Birmimgham, Liverpool, Nottigham. She has done decent voluntary work, medical attachments and her predicated scores in IB 766 for HL subjects. Any recommendations will be highly appreciated.

Hi there!
Would you mind telling me about how international students applying for medicine 2018 entry are selected for interview? I have a UKCAT score of 2490 which is really low but I was hoping my IGCSEs would make up for it. I got 10A*s for my IGCSEs and have A level predicted grades of A*A*A*A

with regards to pharmacy and biomedical science courses, do admission officers take into account your personal statement? i am applying to two courses so I am a bit worried about that. thank you
Which course(s) are you thinking of applying to? Mathematics BSc

Are you undergrad/postgrad? Undergraduate

Where are you applying from? East Sussex

Have you any questions about studying at Queen’s?
-So I am torn between liverpool and Queens. I Looked at queens (loved it!!!) but from what I have gathered there doesn't seem to be many opportunities for years abroad for maths? I did have a look but I can't find anything on it?
-I've been reading a lot of stuff about how students from mainland UK get kinda lonely at queens at weekends, due to the fact a lot of students are from northern Ireland so go home on the weekends? leaving a lot of students alone?
-Does the union have a night club?
-Is the there an epee fencing team?
(I am just worried since I would rather go to a uni and not be lonely, having a good social life than the opposite of course since if I am not happy at University then it is unlikely I am going to succeed?)

Are you thinking of applying to both courses at Queen's next year?

Hi there JoshElyot :hello:

Thank you for getting in touch. It's an excellent idea to check out all these things now before you make any final decisions and we will do our best to answer all your questions.

Firstly, we're glad to hear that you loved what you saw when you looked at Queen's. We have to admit it is a beautiful campus, even if we do say so ourselves!:h:

In relation to the Maths degree, students can participate in the IAESTE and Erasmus student exchange programmes, which enable students to obtain work experience in companies and universities throughout the world so there will definitely be opportunities to travel during your time on the course.

With regard to your concerns about being lonely on campus this is very understandable especially when you're leaving home for the first time. However, there are currently 1,200 GB students here at Queen's with approximately 320 living in Elms Village (our main student accommodation). There are always at least 3-4 GB students placed on each floor within the halls and there is also a large body of international students. There is a Weekend Club led by our English, Scottish and Welsh students which organises trips, events and activities which are great for socialising and forging friendships.

Our Students' Union is also very active and provides a vibrant community for our students. As well as its bars, clubnights, comedy nights etc it also boasts countless clubs and societies including a fencing club. The members this year are active on Twitter and have started a new Instagram account so please check them out if you get a chance!

I hope this helps to answer your questions but if there is anything else you would like more information on please just let us know.

Thank you sooo much! I havent actually sent in my application cause I am waiting for my teacher to finish my reference and the holiday means I wont be able to know until i get back to school. I am just worried that queens wont give me an offer because I know that most applicants are med applicants and their application was already sent off before the 15th of october. As weird as it may seems Im actually more interested in doing pharmacy than dietetics.

I visited the pharmacy department just over a week ago. They do not look at your personal statement and look only at your grades. If you're likely to get the AAB they ask for for pharmacy they will make you an offer. Because they don't interview they have some logistical process as to how many offers they give out to how many students they take on when it comes to results day. so if you're grades say AAB or higher on UCAS you'll get an offer.
I got my offer through last week just after i visited.
