My friend did the verbal reasoning test and got better than 70% of people, is it possible she could get through to next stage?

Your friend could check the feedback section in her application profile. It will tell here there whether she's met the minimum standard expected with that mark. If she's met the minimum standard expected then the question of whether or not she's done well enough to get through will be decided by the number of people who did better than she did, none of which we can know until after tomorrow

To anyone who has applied before roughly how long did it take to find out if you’d progressed to the next stage after the closing date?

Reply 184

I did the verbal test yesterday, I scored better than 80% of people...still waiting to hear back if I'm through to the next stage.

Hi guys,
Just completed the verbal reasoning and got 90%. First time applying for the course as a HMRC employee. Hoping to get through to the numerical test. Does anyone know how far in the application process you have to get in order to be considered for a band O position?

Nathan

I applied two years ago and got offered an O band from it. I got to the reserve list for the assessment centre

Hi all. I’ve applied and got better than 82% on the verbal reasoning test so fingers crossed! It’s my first year applying

Guys, how long does the application take roughly? Do I need a cover letter/cv? I know its late but I'm starting now and the deadline is midnight.

Reply 188

No you don’t need a CV or covering letter. You have to input your recent job history into the form. The actual application form is really short and only asks for basic details.

Thanks. For the qualification history section, do you just put your degree only? or everything else like GCSEs and A-Levels. For the fast stream, I was only asked about degree only after the interview. Also, with work experience, do I need to enter every work experience/ part-time work/ volunteering? or just the most recent ones. If it helps, I am a final year uni student so haven't started a career or anything. Thanks alot!

I have just taken the verbal test. I have a tendency to rush these things and completed it in 9 minutes but scored just 68%. I hope this is enough.

Hey guys, how long after completing the verbal test does it take to be asked to do the numerical?

You'll know after applications close and they set pass mark based on number of entrants. If successful you'll be invited to the next stage which is numerical and situational judgement

Exactly the same, just applied and taken the test without any practise and rushed through it. Got 76% and finished it in 7 minutes.

Better than 68% of other people on the verbal reasoning test. Any hope you think?

68% isn't bad I think the cut off seems to have been below that on previous years but its a numbers game on other people. Roll on tomorrow and hopefull we'll all be told sooner rather than later 🤞

Sorry I realise this is too late now as it’s 12:24 am so applications have closed! I put my A Levels and GCSE’s on there too. Don’t know if they were needed but I’d rather give more info than not enough! I don’t know, I guess for you if you don’t have any full time work to put down then I’d put as much info as poss about previous experience. Not that I think it matters too much as the entry requirements did say no tax experience necessary and as long as you have a predicted 2:1 you’re fine. So I guess they are assuming there will be a fair amount of students applying and some of them may have no experience at all! Hope you sorted it out 😊

Hope they let us know soon.
