Sorry was on a bit of a downer at the time, should have said well done to you! Know a good few who didn't get their first location so must have been a lot of competition.

Same location, are you currently internal?

Yeah, internal

Anyone know how many on reserve list / when it runs to?

The tax academy have confirmed if any offers are rejected they'll review locations of those successful prior to going to those on reserve list - that's why it takes so long to finally complete the placement exercise.

Probably not good news for those on reserve list, but good news for those who didn't get their first choice.

Will this be after the acceptance deadline or as the rejections come in do you know?

I don't know how many are on the list as it changes each year depending on how many reached the standard.
It should say on your reserve email when it runs to. Should say something like 'if a place becomes available before...'
Last year it was 28th July - can't be much later as they need time to get your pre-employment checks done and contracts sorted and cannot delay the course start date.

I’m succesful was just curious to be honest. So if someone starts and decides to leave after a week / accepts then doesn’t turn up their place isn’t filled?

No, we had someone not get the required degree but they left it until too late to say anything so their spot couldn’t be filled, we also had someone defer until quite late and again their spot wasn’t filled.

That's surprising but good to know, well for those on reserve anyway!

It did mean that people who were supposed to go elsewhere could take up some of the unused spots but they didn’t find out until quite late.
We’ve also had people transfer at the streaming point.

If you’re going somewhere that isn’t totally ideal there’s always the chance that you could move when everyone has settled and people have left/not taken up their post etc.

But I would say that even if you get one location you might have to travel for tutorials anyway.

How many days' annual leave do we get? (We haven't even started yet and I'm already looking forward to some time off!)

22 days (plus bank hols) year 1
25 days (plus bank hols) years 2-9
30 days (plus bank hols) year 10 +

During TSP you'll be expected to take your leave at certain times of the year which don't clash with tutorials/exams

As above, when you get your timetable it will have specified “holiday” periods. Generally 1/2 weeks at Christmas, 1 at Easter, all of August, basically in line with the school holidays.
Plus you might find that there is a “free” week between modules when you might be able to fit leave in.

People do take leave at other times but it would be at your manager’s discretion.

Saw the transfers quite a lot in my office! Is the streaming point a year in now?

Hi everyone! Congratulations to those who have made it on the programme this year. I’m one of the TSP17s based in Large Business, Munroe Court, Leeds. If anyone wants any help or advice, let me know - I’d be happy to help

Reply 1994

Also, out of interest, do you know how many people have been offered a place in Leeds, in particular Munroe Court?

Hi Lizzie - I'm not sure I've heard of anyone else on here, but I've been offered Munro Court in Leeds - very much looking forward to starting!

Hiya! And welcome! I understand you’ve been talking to Sadia too? If you have any questions, just give me or Sadia a shout. I think we’re only going to be with you until December when we stream, so there’s a lot we’ll need to try and pack in during the time we have with you x

Hi Lizzie, im going to be at Castle House, not a massive worry for now but do you happen to know if there is free onsite parking? Thanks
