It doesn't mention Windows 10..... does that mean Launch pad is not compatible with Windows 10?! Or have they sent out old info?

Also, are the tested competencies the same 4 for all of us or different ones based on our sjt scores??

I got these:

Making Effective Decisions

Collaborating and Partnering

Managing a Quality Service

Changing and Improving.

That timeframe spooked me a little too. It's a while away but I'm glad they've given a set date though because otherwise we would all be sitting anxiously refreshing our emails as the bells ring in 2018 haha.

Agree much better way of doing it - set date and we can all forget about it over Christmas and New Year 😁

Bit of a contradiction in the fact sheet which states it is a strength based interview but will ask questions around 4 competences? Surely the whole point of strength based questions is to stay away from competences?

Reply 607

Yeah I don’t get that either. Maybe it’s in the way they phrase the question that makes it strength based.

This must be the case as 2 minutes is no where near long enough to discuss a sce ario using the competency method. Get revising that framework!

Unfortunately the Civil Service lives and breathes competencies so will always be structured around them. 2 minutes to answer is tight though.

Yes, I got the same. Actually it looks like we all got identical letters - they aren't personalised in any way.

Noticed this as well. Seems it will be strength based questions, but our answers will still be assessed against the 4 competencies. Not too familiar with strength based interviews to be honest. From what I gather, you can't really prepare as much as competency interviews, but employers get a better insight into what you can offer.

Go into your "attachments" folder. Breaks down your SJT results in a test results document there. 👍🏼

Look under view attachments, there will be a downloadable feedback report on SJT score

I see the video interview is strength based. A quick look about online will let you know what that should entail generally but has anyone ever done one for the civil service specifically? As someone who already works in the civil service, I'm so used to everything being purely competency based

I know it’s a nightmare. The questions are still based around the competencies though so it’s still worth having examples prepared around those I think.

Anyone had the invite to the video interview today yet?
