Economics Degree without A-Level Economics?

I am currently studying Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I originally wanted to do engineering but now have changed my mind and want to do economics. What can i say on my personal statement that will help justify me doing eco without actually taking the a-level?

Just be genuine. they dont expect economics, so you can use your personal interest, reading an knowledge. Surely you know why you are interested and what motivates you to want to study it for three years?
