UKCAT worth taking for a hope at clearing medicine place?

Considering I havent got the right predictions ABB, should I take the UKCAT and hope st george's is in clearing for medicine again in 2018 and try and get myself a place? Or I should I give up on the normal medicine route?
I would apply this year and see what happens.

are you eligible to apply via any widening access schemes?

Taking it this year, could always be a way of getting used to the ukcat for next summer if you wont be able to use it in clearing.
