I received 4A's, 3B's & 4C's @ gcse. These grades in relation to my secondary's school overall performance is pretty standard, if not, slightly above average.
I retook year 12 due to personal reasons (wouldn't really class them as extremely extenuating circumstances though) and achieved 3A's in Maths, Physics & Economics and A* in EPQ.
My personal statement looks good I think .. e.g. I took part in a summer school programme, experiential learning abroad & have done a technology based tedtalk
I thought I would ask on here for advice being as my college is recommending me to apply to Cambridge and I would like to know if, just by experience or info if anyone knows if I have a chance or not.
I have other Universities that I've got my eye on and probably prefer too so I won't be too disheartened if I get rejected (it's just family/friends/college that will probably be more hurt than me, haha)
But why not give it a try or am I being too hopeful?
Since I'm a retake student should I just completely get Cambridge out of my head or any Russel group university for that matter?
I am predicted 2A*'s & an A (could potentially be bumped to an A* with some chocolatesπ) and want to apply for Engineering.
Be as brutally honest as you need to be.
Thank you
