Keep intact until I know the rumour is true.

My belief is that one day, lying catches up with people. My sister has lied about stealing money from my parents, until they found ways to essentially force her to admit it. Now they dont lend her money, charge her rent for living with them, and dont pay for anything from her. I've since found out they actually still do and she has maxed out her overdraft but still can't stop spending. One day in the future, she'll feel the full effects of this-when our parents can't bail her out, and she has driven everyone else away, she'll realise what she's done wrong.

Its the same with liars. i think once you build mistrust, theres no going back, its over for you. You'll end up pushing people away, and eventually you'll lose too much to come back from.
