someone I know had gotten low GCSE grades and not met the 6 As a requirement for a university,(most unis say you need atleast 6 As) however, got A* Chemistry A* Biology and A Business and really wants to do medicine is there any universities that have low GCSE entry requirements that anyone knows of. He got B Maths, B English lang, C English lit, C geography, B core science and B additional science. is there any university that would consider him and has low entry requirements for gcse?

well, most unis say 6As minimum at GCSE for all the unis near him within like a 200-mile radius. but he would literally go anywhere just to study medicine

He can still do Medicine. He just has to work really hard during A-levels (which I'm sure he will especially if he really wants it) and get a good UKCAT score. He should look into work experience opportunities and volunteering to improve his personal statement. He can look into universities which are more UKCAT and PS heavy - Leicester, Newcastle etc. He should stay away from GCSE heavy university (Cardiff, Oxford etc). If he does the right research and applies to universities strategically he will be fine.

He can also look into foundation year course (6 years) but he must have specific requirements. Or he could do a degree such as biomedical sciences or something relating to science and apply to medicine as a graduate .
