I am trying to study Medicine at, hopefully, Oxbridge. I am currently in Year 12 I have a question: How do you get an A* in a subject, for example Maths. What UMS marks or percentage do you need to get overall to achieve an A* ?
Which A level board are you doing? You should be able to look it up on the syllabus. For an A* you need an average over 90 UMS in C1,C2,C3,C4 and average over 80 in the A level as a whole.
That's wrong. You don't need to average over 90 UMS in C1 and C2, just C3 and C4.
For new reformed Linear A levels, there won't be fixed boundaries. Grade boundaries will change year on year and, just like e.g. 9-1 GCSE maths, will be set after exams are marked and the results are statistically analysed. You will find the boundaries for this years science A levels on your examiners web site, they could go up or down in the future. There are none for maths as is changes to the new specification this year and no exams have been set yet.
