I'm in year 12 doing A-Levels and wanting to study at Cambridge in the future.. with no real plans on a career.

My dream as a child was to act. To go down the route of appearing on TV .. Just months ago however my friends told me to grow up because of my religion ensuring me I couldn't go far. As absurd as it sounds my religion restrains me from making out on set or partaking in any intimate scenes. I've always wondered.. is that a huge drawback? Could I still make it big in acting without needing to make out? It seems so absurd.. but my own religious views come first to me and honestly I would wanna stick to them at any cost.

So.. is acting the route for me or will I need to look for alternative options? I mean, I could work with Law not that it's what I want to do. Ultimately.. acting is what I've always wanted to do. It's where I feel safest. I understand sacrifices need to be made but in my eyes my religion is what keeps me together and what makes me, me. So is this dream just a childhood fantasy? Could my religious views destruct it?

You could still very well pursue the route of acting. Your passion just shows how much you want it, which is great because acting directors are always looking for that. Tell your agent about your situation. They will find work for you which do not include these intimate scenes. Just remember that you will miss a lot of opportunities. But take everyone you get. Even the CBBC jobs. You could even apply to be a CBBC presenter. You have to start somewhere.

    Good luck.

Any idea how I could apply to become a presenter? / Specific URL's. That'd be really helpful.

But thanks in advance, I think I'll take you up on that and give a local agency a contact.

Yes you can absolutely act. Plenty of religious people act.
