Unsure about general rotation matrices.

Just a quick question I want to get cleared;
The rotation matrix I use is this (sorry, dont know how to use latex yet):

cos(angle) -sin(angle)
sin(angle) cos(angle)

Will this work for any angle? eg angles like 280 or 350 or 120. If so, why? and if not, why?

Sorry bout this, just wanted to get this cleared up as i am pretty unsure.
