so i wont fail the IB if i have 2800 words for my EE ?
i will still receive the diploma?
because the only way to fail EE is to not submit ...
and if the word count isnt an issue, then 2800 words isnt a problem?

my school told us that 3500 is the minimum word count...

When are you handing it in, xeq? Try and hit ~3200 words or so. It's hard to make an A-grade EE with 2.8k words.

im not looking for an A grade in EE
my 1st aim is just to pass EE and TOK...if i can, im hoping for a B or probably a C in EE...
will 3000 do the job for such a grade?
im handing it in 2moro..

Ooh... if it's due tomorrow just try and hit 3000 words (without pointlessly adding material, mind you, or that might make it worse) and then leave it at that.

ideally, your introduction should be around 500, your conclusion 500, and your essay 2000-3000. Perhaps, breaking it down into parts will help you achieve the required word count better? (oh and the 300 of the abstract doesn't count in the total word count).

No.

Just ask for an extension and do it properly. It's good practice for uni, anyway. I just did 8500 the week before last :p:

you can still get the diploma even if you get an E on the extended essay

Reply 9

The min word count is 3,500. Which makes sense, I think...

i think if you are doing a science EE then 3,500ish should be fine as a minimum but if you're doing something like philosophy or history maybe 3,750ish?
