    Hey,
I'm starting my gap year and I am thinking about self-teaching the new A-Level Psychology spec from AQA.
    I have 3 questions:

    1) Do I need to study the Year 1 textbook, as well as the Year 2 textbook, if I want any chance of achieving an A grade?

    2) I completed an A-Level in AQA Biology, so I am wondering if the content in psychology A-Level is as lengthy?

    3) Is it even possible to teach myself Psychology in one year?

    Any help is appreciated, thanks

You have to study Year 1 and 2 as this is the content for the exams - not just year 2.
It does have a lot of content and a lot of remembering to do - you're given a psychological concept or hypothesis, a couple of studies to back it up and evaluation for the studies. You also need to recall specifics such as dates or percentages of participants.
It will be possible if you're not studying anything else and willing to put in effort. Classes in a sixth form are 5 hours per week for AS and 5 hours per week for A2, so in theory you need 10 hours per week learning the content. Another 5 hours on top is recommended for revision, giving you 15 hours a week.

I see. I think I can do it then, especially as this is something I'm very interested in.

Thanks so much for the help!
