Hi. This is something I need advice on.

Becoming an audiologist is one career I've been pondering as I've always loved to help and support other people, and because of my own personal experiences. Audiology has always fascinated me as well.

I'm profoundly deaf but will be fitted with a cochlear implant in the next couple of months or so (have been predicted a good outcome with the implant). I've also been told that my speech is very good by a lot of people and that they wouldn't have known that I'm deaf if I hadn't informed them. I have also pretty much grown up in an audiology based environment

Speaking realistically, even if I were to obtain the required qualifications, is a career in audiology something I can even think of pursuing?

Maybe contact some of the audiology organisations and ask actual audiologists? Cant see which one of any is the most important.
