How to maximise my chances of getting into medical school?

Hi TSR,

I am a Year 12 student who is looking to apply for medicine 2019 entry. I have just started A levels in Chemistry, Biology, Maths and RS. My GCSE grades are A*s in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, RS, Geography and French, a 9 in Maths, an 8 in English Literature and a 6 in English Language (getting it remarked).

I do a range of extracurricular stuff, and I also volunteer at a care home. At my school, I also attend a Medic's Society and a Medical Journals Society. Is there anything else I should be doing, besides trying to get work experience?
Perhaps read some medical books or follow debates on medical issues. Seems like you're on the right track. Keep ahead of your studies and keep a proper work life balance.
Thanks. Great advice.
