with this being a highly debated subject, i thought it best if it were put into a poll.
what is your view on this matter?
Uh.. what would the new name be?
"Uk learning" sounds okay to me.. not very catchy or "cool" though.
If d is combining a lot of projects into one via this new name change, then it's really not just us that it's affecting. Therefore, if the new site (or whatever) not going to be solely academic then there is no point in it still being UK-Learning! However, it would be nice for the forum part to stay as UKL but I don't think it's a certain, it just needs to be something that doesn't sound ridiculous. I never thought catchiness would be an issue unless it was being advertised all over the place.
If the name is changed, the forum will use a lot of user, and will not attract as many yet unknown potential users, especially with a silly name which could possibly be Banaboo. I think UKL is fine, and appropriate for what the site is, and always has been, by opening it up for discussion, it encourages the spammers who fail to acknowlegde that the primary purpose of the forum is that of education.
Nothing can really sum the forum up though, and it's still heavily "learning" based. I don't think the name should be changed.
will this forum be scrapped and an entirely new one be created or what? if we keep this one a name change seems very pointless really.
I don't think it should be changed, but aslong as I can still access it, I don't really care.
what other forums are you talking about?
Make it sound at least educational if you're going to change it.
