Am I supposed to put irrelevant ABRSM qualifications from years ago on UCAS? Watch

It says to declare everything... I assume an ABRSM grade 2 piano from 7 years ago and I can't even remember how to play the instrument at all is irrelevant but I'm just worrying about it and wanted someone to confirm for me. I'm not doing a course related to music at all.

Only Grade 4 and above are equivalent to Level 2 (e.g. GCSE) so should be declared. Level 6 and above have UCAS points.

Just checking with PQ on this...

So anything lower than grade 4 doesn't matter. Thanks!

The rule is, if in doubt declare it. In this case it won't make one jot of difference.

But PQ might be able to confirm if it's necessary.

Try adding it. I suspect only the higher grades are available on Apply.

No, all of the grades including Grade 1 are available.

Will it seem odd to the universities to include a grade 2 music qualification from 7 years ago? It seems completely irrelevant.

University staff are used to filtering through to find what matters. Don't worry.

I've seen applications with swimming certificates listed. Music grades are normal.

My parents think it detracts from the rest of my application because it was at a previous school which I have marked as 'no qualifications' (so I would have to change that just because of this music grade) and all of my other grades are very high (9 A*s IGCSE, 44/45 IB predicted) so they have told me not to add it because it looks silly.

If I don't include it, does that count as not declaring all of my grades?

Any answers to the question above? I'm sending off my application tomorrow so I want to be sure about this.

Are you applying for Medicine and/or Oxbidge?

Ok, just wondering why the rush

It's better to give complete information. As PQ said, the admissions teams are very used to filtering through and finding the info they need. If UCAS has provided the means to add the grade, that means they require it to be added.

Hi, I've done music grades up to grade 8, so would I declare all the qualifications from grade 6 onwards or just grade 8? Thanks!

I know I'm early, but this uni application has been taking up all of my free mental energy and I feel like I'm not thinking about my school work as much as I should or doing any of my outside hobbies as much as I would like so since I've written everything up for my application I want to get it sent off.

Are there any other minor qualifications that I might have forgotten?

I *think* you would need to declare all the grades from 1 onwards. But any UCAS tariff points only apply to the last one (your grade 8).

Hopefully PQ can confirm, or deny.
