3/8 of your income is spent on your monthly bills, 2/5 is spent on food and clothing and 1/10 goes on entertainment. You put the remainder of your monthly income into savings.

Can u collect all the fractions over a common denominator?

Your whole income is 1, you have to minus your total outgoing fraction from one and u have ur answer

Firstly you make all the fractions have the same denominator. All three fractions have a denominator that is a multiple of 40, so 3/8 goes to 15/40, 2/5 turns to 16/40 and 1/10 goes to 4/40. Then you add 15 16 4 which = 35. Then you take away 35 from 40 which gives you how much you have left which is 5/40, this can be simplified to 1/8 so your answer is 1/8. Hope this helps
