Hi, I've become disillusioned with playing my violin as I can't play a number of the songs that I'd like to learn as they are specifically for guitar. I just don't enjoy it anymore and I barely even play nowadays. The main issue is that I don't think my parents will approve because I've spent years playing the violin and they've spent lots of money on lessons but I just don't enjoy it and I don't know what to do. Should I tell them I want to switch and sell my violin or should I just keep them happy and stay with playing violin? Thanks.

I’d maybe stick with violin but self teach in guitar? That’s what I do but I love both instruments. I bought a guitar for £10 on Shpock and got Yousician (free version) for like the first 2 weeks and then learnt from YouTube xx
