Met this girl online..

Been talking to this girl online for almost two months now. She found me on Facebook and we started talking. We've moved on to MSN now and still talk a lot.

Only problem is she is 17, I'm 21. I like her and want to ask her out, but don't know if I'll be making a mistake.

Anyone been in a similar position and have advice?

Have you even so much as conversed via telephone? Asking her 'out' without first having met her would be perhaps the most pathetic course of action that you might conceivably undertake.

Speak on the phone with her first, then ask her if maybe she'd like to meet you... make it clear that you're willing to do everything on her terms so that she feels comfortable.

Good man. Though it might be prudent to arrange an exchange of numbers first; especially if either of you finds the prospect particularly daunting. Provided you strike up a successful rapport, you can then incorporate your (modest) proposal into casual conversation.

So it'll be better for me to ask her over the phone rather than the net?

And how do I go about getting the number, or should I give it instead? Seeing as we've been talking for a bit I don't know how to ask her for it, whereas had I met her randomly somewhere in RL, it would've been easier to ask for it.

Go for it, one of the bestest friends I have I met online by complete mistake lol and we've only seen each other twice as we live so far away from each other but we txt, ring and msn all the time, known him for 4 years now :smile:
