    Hi, guys! I know this may sound silly, but I happen to be a confused student so i'm just going to ask: when you do a cancer-based dissertation, does it have to be something original, where you actually test an idea of your own, e.g. a compound that has never been tested before? or does it have to be an idea based on previous research, that is very similar in structure with the previous experiments and articles e.g you find a good article where the compound they test sounds promising, so you try and copy and improve that? hope that makes sense
