Relatively underappreciated, except in a cult sense:

Monty on the Run- the music is legendary but is the game itself really given its due?

World of Illusion - Sega Megadrive. The music alone is so evocative, mysterious, as if from the best 1930s Disney film never made, and then take in to account the beautifully drawn environments and the cleverness of some of the setpieces. Sega truly had the best Disney games.

1080 Avalanche - Gamecube. An exhilerating racer game that is also so true to the principles of platform gaming as well.

James Bond: Everything or Nothing- All formats (played on Gamecube). Very fun, cinematic, James Bond game with great use of gadgets. Some of the cinematic chase
sequences are like precursors to Uncharted. Quantum of Solace was also a decent James Bond game. So it's not just Goldeneye.

Jet Set Radio Future - Xbox . The closest you can play to this on this generation's consoles is Sunset Overdrive on Xbox One.

I am still convinced that the Mystery Dungeon series is the best thing that has ever come out of Pokemon. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team was my favourite game for years.

Yessss, PMD2 was my jam. That ending felt like getting hit by multiple cars. Good times.

What oldie video games did you like playing as a kid that have ended up mostly forgotten or underappreciated? And were they actually good?
Mine would have to be the Harry Potter PS1 games, absolute gems.
Not necessarily old, but RuneScape 2 (the version before Jagex skull-****ed the game) is under-appreciated imo. It was the first proper video game I've ever played, and probably the game I've spent (or wasted!) the most time on throughout the latter years of primary school and the first two years of secondary.

I learned to touch-type on that game amongst other things.

The Secret of Monkey Island. Way ahead of it's time and basically provided much of the plot for the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie lol!

The original Star Wars Battlefront games. Spent most of my childhood on those masterpieces. Didn't even care that the graphics were so bad
