Part a .I am struggling with this question from last 30 mins
I don't know show to show that to x+y=sqroot 3 cos

I used cos2 + sin2 =1
But equally that I got there is not cos
As I made sin and cos as a subject and the sub .....
6. Remember that you can use addition formula for so you can expand it out in terms of sin(4t) and cos(4t).

Just checked it and so the question is invalid. Simple counter-example: and the two do not match.
8. Looks as though part (a) should be asking you to show that x + y = 2sqrt(3)cos(t).

Suggest you have a go at that, using the identity for cos (a + b).
