I am looking at doing a fashion communication degree at Uni (preferably at BCU or DMU or UCA) . I was wondering what do I need expect at an interview and whilst researching the universities which i want to apply for I've noticed that each one of them say that i need to have a portfolio, so what do I need to include in my portfolio and what do universities like to see. Also i am now currently trying to write my personal statement and just don't know where to begin, what would I need to include in personal statement, because I have no clue and I need help!..... THANK YOU!

Only BCU offers a Fashion Branding and Communication degree - the other two have merchandising/buying or marketing courses.

I'd suggest you contact them directly to ask what sort of portfolio they'd ask for (if they ask for one at all) for the actual degrees you're interested in. They should be able to give you more detailed guidance about what they expect to see.

Likewise for your PS you need to check the detail about the NAMES of the courses you're applying for and the detailed module content that they'll cover so that you can talk about your interests in the topics that cross across all of your choices.

    Hello BenedicteK,

Here is a brief of what we expect fashion students applying to Ravensbourne for the 4 fashion courses that we host here.

Your portfolio should show your passion and skills. Your work should cover the whole design process: from initial research, through concept development to the finished piece. At Ravensbourne we offer portfolio workshops you can attend for free for help with your showreel or portfolio as well as getting interview tips.
We are based in North Greenwich, London, so pop by if you want to get familiar with the University and get some tips, even if you want to study elsewhere.

    Hope this helps a little!

Feel free to send us a message,
    Michail
