The point is repeating guns existed at that point, it wasn’t only guns that took thirty seconds to reload. You could definitely argue that if they were supposed to be excluded then they would be, even aside from that, there’s no basis to make the argument of ‘they didn’t know what guns would become, if they did they’d have made exclusions’
The individual states are not forbidden by the US constitution from more heavily regulating privately-held weaponry, and both US v Cruikshank (1876) and Presser v Illinois (1886) confirmed this.. They just don't. Some have constitutions that say they can't. Arkansas state v Buzzard (1842) in the Arkansas Supreme Court illustrates the received militia-based view there.

Hm...If you compare 3rd image to 8rd it would show that there were more gun related violence in the states with gun control

Right, I don’t see what point you’re making? All I’m saying is nothing in the second amendment bans any type of firearm and the common argument of ‘they didn’t know what guns would become’ to try and validate banning guns without repealing the second amendment, is stupid

Following the latest incident in Vegas, the gun issue in America has been brought up again, and all I ever see is Americans ranting about how gun control doesn't work. I don't understand why people who are pro gun are so unwilling to look at instances where gun control works? There are cases where gun control doesn't work, and gun control doesn't stop all violence, but there are countless instances of gun control working? Why are people not even prepared to look at those examples? How many times does something like this need to happen before America actually acknowledges their problem with guns? I know it's tied into money and the fact the government often has their hands tied on the issue, but I'm referring to every day citizens who won't even give it the time of day.
Hasn't it dawned on any of you anti-gun people that there is no reason to give up your right to own a firearm, which is the goal of anti-gunners. The need of self- defense will be here long after these school shootings are over. They keep happening because those who would plan to do such evil know they can get away with it until most take their own lives. If saving lives was truly your goal you would do better to put an armed guard in every classroom or search every child before school. Do this for a period of 3-4 yrs. and my guess is you would see school shootings disappear. It's not an impossible task to keep armed kids from entering a classroom. There are metal detectors in every Gov. building and courthouse down to the city level so I don't think the little dears will be too traumatized by the experience of walking through one before school.
I'm am being asked all the time to try and understand this or that culture when whackiness surfaces in a people. You should have guessed by now that we are a more violent people who don't believe that death is the most terrible thing that can happen to someone.

There. Now lets have no more of this anti gun nonsense.

At a guess ......I would say for the same reasons anti gun supporters are so unwilling to acknowledge the occasions when civilians with legal carry conceal certificates have used their weapons to save lives.

the occasions when civilians with legal carry conceal certificates have used their weapons to save lives.
Those are rare, and certainly outnumbered by the number of accidental shootings caused by having guns around, and overwhelmingly outnumbered by the deaths caused by mass shootings (excluding 'ordinary' gun murders).

This article here has data that shows that the US is not the worst country in terms of mass shootings:

https://www.investors.com/politics/e...ass-shootings/

After reading several of these articles I have come to the conclusion that this argument is unwinnable because the data can be manipulated to support any viewpoint

I support guns. To preserve freedom and to protect the public from government oppression risks must be taken and sacrifices accepted.

However I'm no fan of some of the nonsense arguments being put forward for gun liberties.

"Why are pro-gun supporters so unwilling to look at instances where gun control works?"

Now this is just a guess but maybe it has something to do with the fact that anti gun supporters are so unwilling to acknowledge the many instances where privately owned guns save lives.

Thats a misleading statistic. Those figures total deaths by handguns which include accidental discharges, suicides, police shootings, and justifiable shootings lest we forget that some of those who are killed needed killing.

This is at the center of the issue. Everyday, somebodies butt is saved because they had a gun within reach. You will have to go to You Tube because this isn't reported by most news programs, but you will find endless. accounts of people saving themselves from harm from all manner of freaks. Many are recorded by 911 services.
People meet their end in a lot of ways. Guns are one of them.
Personally, i think wr should concentrate our into finging the reason we have started killing each other for no good rrasonm

1. More deaths are prevented than caused by guns

2. Some of the worst areas for gun homicides are in states with strict gun control.

3. The right to bear arms is part of the constitution which is what makes America better than other countries. It stops the government from throwing people in jail for tweets or other misuses of state power.

Socialists worship the state and they don't like people having guns which gives them the ability to resist the states power which has been subverted to push their evil agenda.

You can't argue with those who think having a gun will stop them being shot in the back of the head.

From what I have heard, many people think that having a gun will provide them better security. The problem is that anyone can get them but not many use them properly.

Banning guns completely would never work. However, they should not be the first thing that people turn to in case of an emergency. Perhaps looking into the types of guns sold and the types of bullets might be a reasonable compromise. For example, having a stun gun is better than an AK 47. But it's difficult to say when people just refuse to talk about the the issue.

Realistically speaking, the only people who should really have guns are qualified professionals. Sure many feel empowered by having such powerful weapons at hand, but it all comes at a price.

Studies show that you are more likely to be shot if you keep a gun in the house than if you don't.
Environmental pressure and natural selection will eventually weed out the gunophiles. Darwin - not just for evolution.

What do you mean... gun control works perfectly. Especially in schools.

Instances whete guns save lives ate not rare. They are daily occurences. Go to You Tube. They far outnumber illegal killings. Remember that sometimes just the showing of a gun can avert violence. You wont see it on news broadcasts because it foesnt fit the narrative

America is the "land of the free" so they believe they should be free to do anything including owning a gun. One of the many reasons why I am genuinely scared to go to America, it's scary to think every pyscho there can own a gun.
The fact that guns save lives is ******** imo, maybe for self defence but if they have guns as well it kind of cancels out the self defence benefit.
