Hey so basically I missed freshers week, there wasn't any place for me in halls and I know no one... I'm really depressed and lonely and don't know how to meet people now, any advice?
(I'm also half British but grew up in another country so I feel really out of place here)

Haha thanks, apart from that do you have any suggestions on how people make friends if they miss all the introductions?

    Morning Lsheep666 and Samerf,

Don'y worry about the fact that you missed Freshers, there are plenty of ways to get involved in the university's activities.
Is there any sport that you like or would like to try? Here is how to get involved: http://www.mdx.ac.uk/life-at-middles...rt/team-sports.
Have you got any hobby or any interest (academic, games, harry potter...), you can join a society! https://www.mdxsu.com/societies

Additionally, we have a Freshers group for all the new students. Why don't you introduce yourself here? https://www.facebook.com/groups/mdxsufreshers2017/

I am a student here myself and I did not know anyone when I started! It is always quite daunting at the beginning but I am sure it will get better! Just get involved as much as possible!
If you want to have a chat I am always around

    Have a great day

    Hi there, thanks for answering
I've actually joined a lot of societies but there aren't any meet ups and they don't seem to have them very often anyway...
It's really depressing to sit by yourself at lunch & just today I had a 3 hour break between lectures so just went to the library and sat there.
I don't know what to do

    Morning,

It is the beginning of the academic year, so it is quite normal that the activities take a bit to kick off.
However, do you want to meet for a coffee and have a chat tomorrow?
Send me a private message so we can organise to meet.

    Have a great day
    Ludovica
